Prompt of the DaySummarize a long document for YOUR job

A report, contract, or article you don't have time to fully read.

I am a [your role] and I care about [what matters to you]. Summarize the document below in: (1) 5 bullets of what it says; (2) the 3 things that matter most FOR MY ROLE and why; (3) anything I should be worried about or act on; (4) 2 questions worth asking. Ignore what's irrelevant to me.

Word of the DayNegative Prompting (Constraints)

Negative prompting tells the model what NOT to do — no jargon, no preamble, don't invent figures — to keep output on the rails.

Every Word of the Day becomes a permanent page. Full definition →

Try ThisTurn a fuzzy goal into a week-by-week plan

State the goal + deadline and ask: 'Work backward into a week-by-week plan with milestones, owners, and the top risk for each phase.'

  1. Give goal, deadline, and constraints.
  2. Ask for a backward-planned timeline.
  3. Assign real owners and adjust dates.

Don't Do ThisDon't let it do arithmetic unsupervised

Language models predict text, so a total can look completely reasonable and still be wrong — and a wrong number in a confident table is harder to spot than a wrong sentence.

Instead: Have it show the working, or better, have it write the formula and run the sum in your spreadsheet. Never paste an AI-generated figure into something financial without recomputing it.
